Accountant II

Location: Houston, TX 77024
Job Type: Contract
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
Work Arrangement: 100% Remote
Start Date: October 12th

TruBlu HR Solutions is seeking an experienced Accountant II for a contract opportunity with a well-established healthcare organization. This position is 100% remote, with occasional onsite attendance in the Houston area for meetings as needed.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in general ledger accounting, journal entries, account reconciliations, month-end close, and variance analysis, along with excellent analytical and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform general ledger accounting activities and support the month-end close process.
• Prepare and post accounting journal entries.
• Perform complex account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Complete sub-system reconciliations and ensure accuracy of financial information.
• Analyze account balances and financial activity.
• Perform variance analysis and identify unusual or inconsistent activity.
• Research and resolve accounting discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation.
• Assist with reviewing and improving accounting processes and procedures.
• Recommend changes to accounting systems and procedures when appropriate.
• Collaborate with internal departments to obtain information and resolve accounting issues.
• Communicate accounting information clearly and professionally.
  

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• 2–6 years of accounting experience.
• General Ledger (GL) accounting experience.
• Experience preparing accounting journal entries.
• Strong account reconciliation experience.
• Experience with variance analysis.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage priorities in a remote environment.
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Healthcare accounting experience.
• Experience with Lawson / Infor Lawson ERP.
• Physician accounting experience.
